Sheet Rock, Paint Chips, Siding, Roofing... OH MY!

So, last night I was delighted to see a bit of siding on the south end of the house!

And on the west roof, a bit of our great, green metal roof.

And here we have a couple of examples of the sheet rock ....

With TAPE in the upstairs bathroom, purple mositure barrier rock and my ROOM!

Oy, paint chips....

Thursday's pictures and news

Ruckus could not be happier with the construction...

Giant mounds of dirt to be king of...

And for those of you who have not experienced "the white house", here it is in it's final stages of decay...

There are memories that I have and love of the old place, but I will not cry when it is gone...
The latest and greatest addition to the house are the temporary stairs...

Ruckus was waiting for me to come up from the cellar. He is such a good dog, certainly not a Jack Russell.

More more more.... YAY!!!

Yesterday I was able to go into the basement for the first time....
These are the stairs that go down from the outside, past the mud room.

This picture has the interior stairwell on the left
(right now the ladder is the way to get upstairs)
and the south facing windows straight ahead...
The space is big and I am thinking it will be a recreation/ craft room. TV, Stereo, Knitting, Library, etc...

Here is another picture of the bathroom from across the stairwell hole....
You can see the back of the tub/shower unit.
The toilet will be on the other side of the red lidded bucket is sitting...

See the picture below where you can see the spot where the throne will sit...

to the left here is the shower and tub.
The unit is tiny! I am hoping I can fit my rather large rump into the bath, although it may be a bit like rolling in a puddle, as it is not terribly deep.

Here are a few more pictures of my room....
Great big closet on the left.

South facing window...

Pictures from Tuesday Night (9/16/08)

Well, not too much has changed since yesterday's pics, but I got a nice picture of the back of the house and they put in the beginnings of the walls upstairs.

I love how you can see through the house and across Rte. 116....
I think it is very cool!
I also like the Oak tree. There are some beautiful trees I will be able to see from the kitchen window and through the back of the house.

this picture looking down looks into the entry/ mudroom

Then we have the second bedroom closet...

And Finally, my bedroom window again...
and the suggestion of a wall!

Wow, the house is rising FAST

So Rich and crew having been working hard on the house...
and Lois, as usual is thrilled by me very presence,

It is looking great!

Here is my bedroom window.

Last night was the first chance I had to get into the upstairs.

This picture is of the Pop-out and the first window is for my bedroom and the second two are for the second bedroom upstairs.

And then this photo is of the bathroom, you can see the shower/ bathtub looking like a giant cardboard box, just behind the ladder.

Rich (our builder) was saying that the upstairs couldn't be much smaller... But, it will be great for me!

More Construction...

As I mentioned earlier, every day there are big changes in the building...

It is quite amazing to come home and see the floor of the upstairs put in. There is so much less light in the interior of the house!

Hey, look! They have framed the upstairs... I can see the window of my room.

Now I can see the inside pop-out and the additional space in the two bedrooms...
Hey, I see the beginnings of
a ROOF!
You can now see this house before Lois and Elin's house when you are at the top of the hill on 116 coming south from Middlebury.

Kind of cool...

Takumi's WORM (Cecropia Moth Larva)

Takumi came home from a visit to the Farm with Bill and Tina with a friend he found in the blueberry patch...
Pretty cool, also to see more about the beast, please follow this link. It is really amazing:

up uppity up up...

So, at the beginning of last week, things really started to happen with the house...
The first walls were assembled...
Maceo was doing some quality control and since he did not pee on any of them, the builders must have been doing a good job!

then the next step was the walls going up! And some previews of my views and doors and things...
